Frank Delbressine

Frank Delbressine is an Assistant Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology, affiliated with the Industrial Design department under the Future Everyday cluster. He leads three specialized laboratories: the Medical Simulation Laboratory, Mobility Laboratory, and Neonatal Simulation Lab, focusing on Smart Mobility and Health-related Industrial Design, particularly in Autonomous Vehicles and Medical Simulation.

His research bridges Mechanical Design, Precision Engineering, and Smart Mobility, with recent publications highlighting Artificial Placenta/Womb Technology for Perinatal Medicine. He has authored/co-authored approximately 40 papers and holds three patents, often collaborating with clinical experts like S.G. (Guid) Oei and M.B. van der Hout-van der Jagt. Funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 program (Grant EU863087), his work emphasizes Simulation-based Participatory Design to integrate user perspectives into clinical protocols.

Delbressine coaches six PhD students and contributes to courses such as Engineering Design and Final Master Projects. His projects, including the Soft Circuits Toolkit, demonstrate applications in both healthcare and general industrial design innovation.
