Frank C. Barone, PhD, is a Professor of Neurology and Physiology & Pharmacology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and Director of Cerebrovascular Basic Research and Medical Student Research. He holds dual affiliations in Neurology and Physiology & Pharmacology departments. His career spans academia and industry, including 25 years at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) as a Biology Leader, followed by consulting for pharmaceutical companies like Wyeth-Pfizer. He founded the Albert Research Institute for White Matter and Cognition to advance dementia research collaboration.
Dr. Barone’s education includes a PhD in Biopsychology-Neuroscience from Syracuse University (1973–1982), where he also served as a Research Assistant Professor.
