Frank Bowling

Frank Bowling is Professor of Translational & Experimental Medicine at Manchester Foundation Trust, and founder/CEO of MAVRIC (Manchester Academic Vascular Research & Innovation Centre). He holds adjunct professorships at Victor Babes University of Medicine and Nicolae Testemițanu State University, with clinical oversight at Manchester Foundation Trust and Royal Bolton Hospital.

His research focuses on lower limb complications from diabetes/vascular disease, with expertise in microsurgery, neurology, and clinical biomechanics. He leads national/international collaborations with specialists in medicine, microbiology, and vascular surgery.

Research explores diabetic foot ulcer prevention, biomechanical interventions, and amputation epidemiology, emphasizing practical clinical applications. Awards recognize his contributions to medical research and global healthcare education initiatives.

As Senior Clinical Academic, he directs clinical trials, develops collaborative research projects, and leads undergraduate/postgraduate teaching programs.
