Francisco Ruge-Murcia is a Full Professor in McGill University's Department of Economics, serving as Department Chair (2019-2024). Recognized with the Bank of Canada Fellowship (2017-2021), he was President of the Canadian Economics Association (2021-2022).
His research examines macroeconomics, monetary policy, and collective decision-making in central banks. He has published extensively on inflation targeting, monetary policy committees, and DSGE modeling. Has supervised 12 PhD students to completion with placements in academia and policy institutions.
Holds visiting affiliations with major central banks worldwide and teaches graduate courses in macroeconomics and international economics.
