معرفی
Dr. Francisco Ramos-Pallares is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Lakehead University (Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada). He leads the Thermodynamics and Thermophysical Properties (TTP) Research Group, which focuses on phase behavior, electrolyte systems, and predictive modeling for industrial decarbonization.
Education:
- BSc in Chemical Engineering, Universidad Industrial de Santander
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, University of Calgary
Research Interests: His work centers on thermodynamic modeling of complex systems (polar components, electrolytes, molten salts) to enable sustainable industrial processes. Key areas include:
- Phase equilibria and solution theory
- Thermophysical property prediction (density, viscosity, thermal conductivity)
- Electrolyte thermodynamics for carbon capture and bio-solvent applications
- Computational methods for engineering design
Publication Trends: Ramos-Pallares' recent articles emphasize electrolyte mixtures, asphaltene behavior in crude oils, and generalized models for thermophysical properties. His work bridges experimental data with predictive algorithms for industrial process optimization.
Advising & Leadership: He supervises graduate students in experimental/computational thermodynamics and leads the TTP Research Group. Current advisees include PhD student Twaha Mohamed (electrolyte mixtures) and MSc student Rayyan Thenmalai Ihimamudeen (ethanol/water/salt systems). Alumni include Saeed Ataee Ataabadi (MSc, phase behavior of IPA/water/NaCl).
Laboratory: The TTP Research Group combines experimental data collection, modeling, and simulation to study fluid behavior. Active projects include electrolyte thermodynamics for green solvents and density/viscosity modeling under extreme conditions.
