معرفی
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Francisco Morales Serrano is a Professor of Automation Technology at Berlin University of Technology's Department of Computer Science and Media. Born and raised in Mexico, he holds a B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey, an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University (via distance learning with Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara), and a Ph.D. from TU Berlin's Institute of Electrical Machines. Prior to academia, he worked in industry roles including developer, researcher, project manager, and division manager at companies like Hewlett-Packard and Berlin Heart. His research focuses on interdisciplinary challenges in autonomous systems, particularly Autonomous Surgery.
He teaches courses such as Actuator & Sensor Technology, Robotics, and Electrical Systems, emphasizing hands-on learning with MATLAB/Simulink and practical labs using DC motors and robot arms. The Autonomous Surgery Lab he leads explores robotics, AI, and mechatronics for surgical applications like automated wound stitching. His work bridges medical technology and engineering to develop solutions that benefit human health. Office hours are held during semesters, and he serves as Deputy BAfög Representative for academic documentation verification.
