Francisco Louçã is a Professor of Economics at the School of Economics and Management (ISEG) of the University of Lisbon. His academic work focuses on economic theory, the history of economic thought, and the analysis of financial crises. He has held leadership roles in academic and research organizations, contributing to initiatives like the Data Lab and Policy Lab at ISEG. Louçã's research explores long-wave economic dynamics, the critique of mainstream economic models, and the socio-political implications of economic stagnation and inequality. He has advised numerous graduate students on topics ranging from monetary policy to the Eurozone crisis. His publications span books such as Manual de Economia Política and O Futuro Já Não É o que Nunca Foi, alongside influential journal articles critiquing Real Business Cycle theories and Piketty’s analysis of capitalism.
