Francisco Julià

Dr. Francisco Julià is a Research Fellow at the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research (ICIQ), specializing in developing sustainable catalytic methods through photochemistry. He obtained his PhD from the University of Murcia, followed by postdoctoral research at the University of Manchester and the Max Planck Institute. In 2021, he became a Junior Leader at ICIQ via a La Caixa Fellowship, leading independent research on Earth-abundant metal complexes for sustainable synthesis. His work focuses on ligand-to-metal charge transfer (LMCT) mechanisms and their applications in organic catalysis.

Research Interests: Sustainable catalysis, photochemical strategies for organic synthesis, and the design of environmentally benign catalysts using earth-abundant metals.

Publications highlight innovations in catalytic systems, particularly in leveraging light-driven processes for green chemistry. Collaborations include institutions in Spain, the UK, and Germany, with contributions to journals like ChemCatChem.
