Francis Lawrence Hughes, PharmD, serves as Director of Pharmacy Skills Education and Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Rosalind Franklin University's College of Pharmacy. Previously, he spent 11 years as faculty at Rutgers University's Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy while practicing in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University.
He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Rhode Island in 1999, completed pharmacy practice and emergency medicine residencies, and achieved Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist status in 2002. His educational background reflects deep clinical training across critical care and pharmacotherapy domains.
Dr. Hughes' scholarly work centers on Clinical Pharmacy, Pharmacotherapeutics, and Critical Care Medicine, with extensive experience teaching pharmacotherapeutics and pharmacokinetics to pharmacy students plus pharmacology to physician assistant students. His expertise bridges classroom instruction and ICU clinical practice.
