Francesco Scollo

Francesco Scollo is a Research Fellow at the Department of Agriculture, Food and Environment (Di3A) of the University of Catania. His work focuses on molecular characterization of plant genetic resources, particularly olive and carob trees, and DNA-based traceability in food matrices like extra virgin olive oil. He pioneered the use of droplet digital PCR (ddPCR) for DNA quantification in olive oil and has published extensively on genetic diversity and sustainable agricultural practices.
