Francesco Cherubini

Francesco Cherubini is a Professor and Director of the Program for Industrial Ecology at NTNU's Department of Energy and Process Engineering. He leads research on bioenergy systems, climate change mitigation, and sustainability. His work focuses on lifecycle assessment (LCA) methodologies for bio-based technologies, sustainable aviation fuels, and climate-smart agriculture.

Key projects include LCA4BIO (harmonizing LCA methods), ICARUS (aviation biofuels), and AGRICASCADE (circular fertilizers from agricultural waste). He contributes to global initiatives like the IPCC Special Report on Land Use and the UNEP-SETAC Life-Cycle Initiative.
