Francesco Cerrato is a Full Professor of History of Philosophy at the University of Bologna's Department of Philosophy. He coordinates the Master's Degree in Philosophical Sciences and specializes in 17th-century philosophy, particularly Spinoza's thought, and the political use of fear in modern and contemporary contexts. His research also encompasses Italian philosophy from the Risorgimento era to the post-Unification period.
