معرفی
Diego Donna is an Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Bologna, specializing in the history of modern and contemporary philosophy. He holds a Doctor Europaeus from the University of Bologna and Utrecht University, and was a Research Fellow in the Herméneutique des Lumières project (FNS, Université de Genève/Bologna). He has held visiting scholar positions at international institutions including Princeton University and Université Lyon III. Donna co-founded the International Centre for Spinozian Studies 'Sive Natura', and is a member of the Knowledge and Cognition Research Centre and the Philosophies in Translation research group. He coordinates the research group 'Enlightenment. Histories and Philosophies'.
His research focuses on Spinoza, Enlightenment critiques, and modern French philosophy, with recent publications exploring contemporary French philosophy's historiography, Spinozist thought in the Enlightenment, and reinterpreting Foucault's and Luhmann's engagements with Enlightenment concepts. He actively participates in academic activities such as seminars on encyclopedic knowledge in 20th-century French philosophy and co-leads the department's podcast 'Idee Sbagliate', examining philosophical misconceptions across disciplines.
Donna teaches courses on modern and contemporary philosophy history, though recent course schedules have undergone adjustments (e.g., April 2025 suspension). He is based in Bologna's Department of Philosophy (Via Zamboni 38), with office hours every Friday at 3:00 PM by appointment.
