Francesco Cardarelli

Francesco Cardarelli is an Associate Professor of Physics for Life Sciences, Environment, and Cultural Heritage at the Scuola Normale Superiore (SNS), where he has served since 2018. He previously held roles as a researcher at the National Research Council (Nanoscience Institute) and the Italian Institute of Technology (Center for Nanotechnology Innovation), and as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Irvine.

• PhD in Molecular Biophysics (2009), Scuola Normale Superiore

Research focuses on nanosystems for drug delivery, their biological interactions, and high-resolution microscopy techniques for studying cellular processes. He coordinates national (PRIN) and international (ERC Consolidator) projects.

Current role: Pro-Rector for knowledge transfer, valorization, and responsible use of knowledge at SNS.
