Francesco Candeloro Billari is a Full Professor of Demography and Rector of Bocconi University since November 2022. He previously served as Dean of the Faculty and worked at the University of Oxford (Department of Sociology, Head of Department) and Nuffield College (Professorial Fellow), as well as the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research (Head of the Independent Research Group on the Demography of Early Adulthood).
Research Interests: Billari's work focuses on fertility and family dynamics, the transition to adulthood, life course analysis, population forecasting, digitalization in demography, and comparative surveys. His interdisciplinary research spans demography, economics, sociology, public health, and statistics, often addressing policy-relevant questions through empirical and methodological innovation.

Grants and Leadership: He is the Principal Investigator of a European Research Council Advanced Grant, reflecting his leadership in advancing demographic research through large-scale projects.
