Francesco Basile

Francesco Basile is a Full Professor in the Department of Information and Electrical Engineering and Applied Mathematics (DIEM) at the University of Salerno, Italy. He is actively engaged in teaching, research, and academic service, with a strong focus on control systems, automation, and formal modeling of discrete event systems.

His research interests lie at the intersection of applied mathematics and engineering, particularly in the areas of supervisory control theory, Petri nets, system verification, and industrial automation. These interests are reflected in his teaching and project supervision.

Francesco Basile contributes to international academic collaboration through participation in Erasmus+ programs for study, teaching, and staff training, promoting global engagement in engineering education.

He is involved in laboratory activities and research projects related to automation and control systems, supporting both undergraduate and graduate education and research at the University of Salerno.
