Francesca Uberti is a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Centre for Socio-Legal Studies. Her research focuses on the intersection of law, technology, and citizenship, particularly how legal rhetoric is weaponized by anti-authority groups. She holds a PhD in Law (Socio-Legal Theory) from the London School of Economics (LSE), where she was supported by the ESRC-Rena Field Scholarship.
Her doctoral work examined vaccine-critical activism’s use of legal concepts online. She has taught courses including Medical Law and Ethics at LSE, and her research spans healthcare law, digital activism, and trust in information institutions.
Key projects include analyzing UK ‘pseudo-law’ movements and no-fault vaccine injury compensation schemes. Her recent publications explore socio-legal research methodologies in digital contexts. Awards include the British Academy Fellowship and ESRC scholarship.
