Francesca Lecci is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Government, Health and Not for Profit Division at SDA Bocconi School of Management. She serves as Director of the Master in Healthcare Management (MiMS) and previously led the Executive Master in Management of Healthcare and Social Organizations (EMMAS). Her research focuses on performance management, management accounting, and corporate finance in healthcare and public sectors. Key areas include performance measurement systems in healthcare strategy execution, management control systems during organizational change, and cost management in professional organizations.
Education: She holds a degree in Management of Public Administrations from Università Bocconi and a Ph.D. from Università degli Studi di Parma. She completed the International Teachers Program in 2018.
Research Interests: Her work addresses strategic planning effectiveness, healthcare system reforms, and economic sustainability in public services. Notable projects include analyzing performance measurement impacts on healthcare regional strategies and cost management in arts organizations.
Teaching: She teaches courses on public administration economics, healthcare performance measurement, and digital transformation in healthcare. Recent courses include ‘Value-Based Management in Healthcare’ and ‘Management for Healthcare Organizations’.
Awards: Recipient of the Powerful in Teaching Award (2014 and 2011) from SDA Bocconi. Appointed Secretary General of the Italian Health Economics Association in 2017.
Grants & Leadership: Coordinates research at CERGAS (Centre for Research on Health Care and Social Management), leading studies on healthcare management and policy. Active in designing and delivering executive education programs for healthcare professionals globally.
