Francesca Frentiu is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Health at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), within the School of Biomedical Sciences. Her research focuses on arboviruses such as dengue, chikungunya, and Zika, with emphasis on their transmission dynamics, evolutionary responses to biocontrol methods, and the impact of climate change. She holds a PhD in Evolutionary Genetics from the University of Queensland.
Research Interests: Medical microbiology, evolutionary biology, genetics of arboviruses, climate change impact on disease spread, and mosquito vectors. She investigates how environmental factors influence viral transmission and explores innovative biocontrol strategies. Her work also bridges epidemiology and ecology, examining host-vector interactions and pathogen evolution.
