معرفی
Francesca Faraci is an Associate Professor of Mathematical Analysis at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Catania since 2014. She teaches courses in the Industrial Engineering degree program and maintains an active research program in nonlinear mathematical analysis.
Academic Background:
- Mathematics Degree, University of Catania (1999)
- PhD in Mathematics (2004)
- Postdoctoral Fellowships (specific institutions not detailed)
- Permanent Researcher Position (2008)
Professor Faraci's research specializes in nonlinear analysis with applications to partial differential equations. Her work focuses on finding multiple solutions for nonlinear problems through a variational approach that combines topological results with classical theorems from critical point theory. She has made significant contributions to the study of quasilinear elliptic equations with Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions on both bounded and unbounded domains, as well as differential inclusions and problems with singularities or discontinuous nonlinearities.
Professor Faraci has been recognized as an invited speaker at numerous universities internationally. Her administrative roles include serving as rapporteur and panelist for the Romanian National Research Council's Mathematics & Informatics Panel in 2012 and membership on the organizing committee for the 2014 Intensive Course on Calculus of Variations in Catania featuring prominent mathematicians Alessio Figalli and Susanna Terracini.
Current Academic Responsibilities:
- Member of the scientific board of the PhD program in Computer Sciences
- Responsible for Erasmus agreements with University of Babes Bolyai (Cluj-Napoca, Romania) and National Technical University of Athens (Greece)
- Active participant in the Liceo Matematico activities in Catania
