Francesca Colli is an Assistant Professor in European Politics at Maastricht University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and an Associate Research Fellow at the Egmont Institute, Brussels. She researches civil society organizations, focusing on their campaigns at the intersection of business and politics, especially regarding environmental and climate policy in the EU.
Colli's publications analyze NGO strategies, climate advocacy, and EU governance. Her 15 most recent articles (2020-2025) cover topics like climate movement financing, NATO-NGO collaborations, legal frameworks for social movements, and public engagement in green transitions. She actively critiques EU deregulation efforts and advocates for democratic policy processes.
Colli engages in policy debates via social media and participated in protests against Dutch higher education budget cuts. Her work emphasizes transparency and corporate accountability in climate policy.
