Dr. Frances Hall is a Lecturer in Rheumatology at the University of Cambridge and an Honorary Consultant at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. She established the Connective Tissue Disease clinic and has held leadership roles, including Chair of the East Anglian Rheumatology Society (2019-2021) and representation on the Specialised Rheumatology Clinical Reference Group (2016-2021).

Dr. Hall’s research focuses on autoimmune and connective tissue diseases, particularly systemic sclerosis, lupus, and Sjögren’s syndrome. Her work addresses cardiovascular risk in rheumatoid arthritis, treatment outcomes, and novel therapies like rituximab and JAK inhibitors.
Recent publications highlight her involvement in clinical trials for systemic sclerosis-related Raynaud’s, digital ulceration, and therapies for severe COVID-19. She contributes to international collaborations such as the European Scleroderma Observational Study and CTD-ILD Special Interest Group.
Dr. Hall has co-authored studies on outcome measures (e.g., laser speckle imaging for Raynaud’s), biomarker development, and multidisciplinary approaches to autoimmune disease management. Her expertise spans clinical practice, translational research, and large-scale observational studies.
