Professor Fran Brearton is a leading scholar in 20th/21st-century Irish and British poetry, based at Queen's University Belfast's School of Arts, English and Languages. She specializes in First World War literature, modernism, war writing, and poetry's engagement with environmental themes. Her affiliations include the Senator George J Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice. She has supervised c.20 PhD students and teaches on the MA in Poetry, focusing on war poetry, environmental poetry, and Irish literary traditions.
