Foluso Ladeinde

Foluso Ladeinde is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Stony Brook University, where he has been since 1991. He served as Founding Chair of Mechanical Engineering at SUNY Korea from 2015-2019. Additional affiliations include Visiting Professor/Faculty Fellow for the US Air Force and Visiting Scientist at Brookhaven National Laboratory.

His research focuses on compressible turbulence with combustion, particularly supersonic combustion applications for hypersonic flight vehicles. Key interests include computational methods for turbulent flows (DNS/LES/RANS), spray dynamics with shock interactions, fuel flammability in propulsion systems, and high-performance computing implementations. Current projects examine dual-mode scramjets and rotating detonation engines.

Dr. Ladeinde has received notable recognition including AIAA Best Paper Award and fellowships from both AIAA and ASME. His editorial contributions include service as Associate Editor for AIAA Journal and ASCE Journal of Aerospace Engineering.

Research funding sources include AFOSR, AFRL, DARPA, NASA, NSF, US Navy, and private industry. He directs the Advanced Fluid Dynamics, Propulsion, and Energy Lab and has chaired NASA's External Review Board.
