Ashish Vashishtha

Dr. Ashish Vashishtha is a Lecturer in the Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering at South East Technological University (SETU Carlow). He holds a PhD in Advanced Energy from The University of Tokyo (2016), with postdoctoral research at the National University of Ireland Galway and Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. His expertise spans hypersonic propulsion, green energy technologies, detonation combustion, and spray modeling.

Education:

• PhD in Advanced Energy, The University of Tokyo (2013–2016)
• B.Tech/M.Tech (Dual Degree) in Aerospace Engineering, IIT Kanpur (2003–2008)

Research interests include:

• Hypersonic flows and scramjet propulsion
• Detonation wave control and oblique detonation engines
• Green propellants and alternative fuels
• Cold spray additive manufacturing
• CFD modeling of combustion and fluid dynamics

• Principal Investigator for AltFuel4DF (2022), Pathway Funds (2023–2024)
• Focus on waste-to-biofuel technologies and hypersonic propulsion systems
