Fodei J. Batty is a Professor of Political Science in the Department of Philosophy and Political Science at Quinnipiac University's College of Arts & Sciences, teaching courses in Comparative and International Politics and research methods. Previously, he served as a visiting assistant professor of Political Science at Colgate University.

Research Interests: Dr. Batty specializes in sub-Saharan Africa and developing societies globally, with concentrated expertise in post-conflict political behavior and mobilization in Sierra Leone and Liberia. His work bridges Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Development Studies, analyzing political systems in fragile states and conflict-affected regions through empirical field research.

- Jennings Randolph Peace Scholar Fellowship by the United States Institute of Peace
- Two United States Fulbright fellowships to Sierra Leone
Professional Activities: Dr. Batty has consulted for the British Department for International Development (DfID) and International Organization for Migration (IOM). Since 2018, he has served as Associate Editor for Africa for the Journal of Global South Studies, and his policy perspectives have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Hartford Courant.
