Florina Richard is a PhD candidate affiliated with the University of Queensland's School of the Environment and the Reef Catchments Science Partnership (RCSP), a collaboration between UQ and the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI). Her research focuses on estimating nutrient, sediment, and coloured dissolved organic matter (CDOM) concentrations in the Great Barrier Reef catchments and lagoon using integrated data sources.
Her work combines in-situ real-time sensors, proximal hyperspectral sensing, satellite remote sensing, and machine learning to develop spatio-temporal models for data-driven water quality management strategies. She is supported by scholarships from RCSP and CSIRO.
