معرفی
Florina Moldovan is a full professor at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Dental Medicine, Department of Stomatology. With a focus on musculoskeletal diseases and idiopathic scoliosis, her research bridges cell biology, molecular pharmacology, and biomedical engineering. She leads the Laboratoire de biologie moléculaire orthopédique and collaborates with institutions like CHU Sainte-Justine and IRIC.
- Education: MD from Belgrade (1986), MSc in Biotechnology (Paris 6, 1992), PhD in Pharmacy (Paris, 1995)
Research Interests span osteoarthritis, scoliosis genetics, endothelin/bradykinin receptor antagonism, and nanogel-based drug delivery. Her work connects biomechanical stress, estrogen signaling, and ciliary gene mutations to disease mechanisms.
Publication Trends show expertise in nanogel applications for joint diseases (2022-2025), POC5 gene regulation in scoliosis (2015-2023), and receptor antagonism for inflammation. Recent studies (2023-2025) emphasize
- Bioinspired polymer lubrication
- Meniscal repair strategies
- Translational arthritis models
Scientific Awards include multiple Fondation Yves Cotrel grants (2006-2022), Prix Russell A. Hibbs, and recognition from Scoliosis Research Society. She has received career support from IRSC and FRQNT.
Teaching & Supervision involves courses like SAB1040D and mentoring 10+ doctoral/masters students. Current projects (2023-2028) focus on pharmacotherapies for joint diseases with funding from IRSC and FRQNT.
