Florian Fiorella is a Researcher at the Department of Life Sciences (DSV) at the University of Trieste. He serves as a member of the Department's Board and Boards of Studies, and is part of the teaching staff for the Biological Sciences and Technologies program (SM51).
His research focuses on Comparative Anatomy, Cell Biology, and Developmental Biology, with particular emphasis on marine ecosystems. His work intersects with the Environmental Biology research area at the university, which addresses fundamental interactions between living organisms and their environment.
Dr. Fiorella is actively involved in two significant research projects: BLUECRAB (Blue Crab Lifecycle Understanding and Ecosystem Management in Europe) and SAVEMAR (Support to the Activities for the Valorization and Enhancement of Marine Resources), both currently active.
His work contributes to the department's broader research efforts in marine biology and ecology, which include biomonitoring activities in marine habitats, analysis of biodiversity at multiple levels, and marine ecology studies spanning trophic cycles to fisheries management.
