Florian Fankhauser

Florian Fankhauser is a PreDoc Researcher at TU Wien's Business Informatics Group. His research focuses on cybersecurity, 5G networks, edge computing, and embedded systems security. He has co-advised multiple diploma theses addressing topics like TrustZone rootkits, TPM 2.0-based security measures, and Android application vulnerability analysis. His work combines theoretical contributions with practical implementations, such as adapting OpenAirInterface for edge computing use cases and developing frameworks for automated security classification.

Key research interests include securing IoT devices through low-latency communication protocols and mitigating advanced malware threats in critical systems. He collaborates with Prof. Thomas Grechenig and contributes to interdisciplinary projects bridging telecommunications and cybersecurity domains.
