Dr. Florian Dux is a Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong, affiliated with the School of Earth, Atmospheric and Life Sciences (SEALS) and the Wollongong Isotope Geochronology Laboratory (WIGL). He has held academic positions at the University of Melbourne and the University of Wollongong since 2015. His work focuses on isotope geochemistry, particularly strontium and calcium isotopes, applied to environmental science, archaeology, and medical research.
- Education: PhD in Geochemistry (University of Wollongong, 2015)
Dr. Dux’s research spans geochemistry, isotope geochronology, and environmental science. Key projects include creating national strontium isoscapes for Australia, studying atmospheric particulates in the Pacific, and applying calcium isotopes in medical diagnostics for chronic kidney disease. His recent work emphasizes paleoenvironmental reconstruction and biogeochemical tracers.
Scientific outputs include 15+ peer-reviewed articles on strontium isoscapes, carbonate thermometry, and paleoclimatology. Collaborations involve institutions across Australia and international teams. He is active in data science developments through platforms like AusGeochem.
