Florent Berthelin

Florent Berthelin serves as a Maître de Conférences HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in Mathematics at the University of Côte d'Azur (formerly University of Nice). He is affiliated with the Laboratoire J. A. Dieudonné (UMR CNRS 7351) and also participates as a member of the COFFEE team at Inria Sophia Antipolis.

His research spans multiple areas in mathematical analysis and applied mathematics. Berthelin specializes in kinetic models including transport equations, mean value lemmas, entropy methods, and regularity analysis. He investigates hydrodynamic limits for fluid mechanics, particularly toward Euler and isentropic Euler systems. His work extends to nonlinear hyperbolic partial differential equations, systems of conservation laws with constraints, and applications to road traffic modeling. Additional research interests include numerical methods for these mathematical frameworks and stochastic terms in mathematical models.

Berthelin holds significant teaching responsibilities as the director of the Master 2 MF (Fundamental Mathematics) and Agrégation de Mathématiques programs. He teaches across multiple academic levels including Master's and License (Bachelor's) degree courses in analysis, differential equations, topology, and calculus.
