Florence Garambois-Vasquez is a Lecturer in Latin language and literature at the University of Saint-Etienne with HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) since 2015. She works at the MRASH Laboratory and leads the Saint-Étienne branch of the Hisoma-Jean Palerne research unit. Her academic activities include editorial responsibilities for several journals and collections.
- Education: PhD in Classics (2003) from the University of Lyon, with a thesis on Claudian's Invectives directed by Guy Sabbah
Research Themes: Focus on Late Latin poetry, particularly didactic poetry and epigrams from Late Antiquity, Neo-Latin epigrams, and rhetoric. Her work explores intertextuality, spatial representation, and the poetics of violence and fear in Claudian and Ausonius.
Publications: Authored and co-edited multiple books and articles on Late Roman poetry, including studies on Ausonius, Claudian, and the circulation of Hellenistic models in Late Antiquity. She is currently working on a translation of Coluccio Salutati's De Verecundia as part of the COMOD labex project.
Academic Leadership: Serves as head of the Saint-Étienne branch of Hisoma-Jean Palerne and manages the Les Mémoires du Centre Jean Palerne collection. She also holds roles in the UJM Scientific Council and ALLHIS office.
