Dr. Flavia Timpu is a researcher at the Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI), affiliated with the Laboratory for Nano and Quantum Technologies and the PSI Quantum Computing Hub. She holds a PhD from ETH Zürich under Prof. Rachel Grange, focusing initially on nanoscale sources for nonlinear optics and later transitioning to integrated photonics and novel materials for device functionality. Her current work centers on scaling quantum computers, particularly developing photonics solutions for trapped ion systems and creating integrated photonics platforms tailored for trapped ion quantum computing.
Her research interests include advancing quantum technologies through photonics innovations, optimizing light delivery systems for trapped ions, and exploring material science applications in small-scale devices. She is actively involved in the PSI Quantum Computing Hub, contributing to interdisciplinary efforts in quantum hardware development.
