Dr Fiona Russo is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Business at the University of Southern Queensland. Her expertise spans consumer engagement in health service planning, leadership in organisational contexts, and corporate social responsibility. She holds an MBA from Southern Cross University (2015) and a PhD from USQ (2020). Her research focuses on community involvement in health initiatives, stakeholder engagement strategies, and governance challenges in complex systems.
Key research interests include consumer advocacy in healthcare, leadership approaches in distributed teams, and responsible management education. She has contributed to studies on telehealth impacts, NDIS provider success factors, and multisourcing governance in IT ecosystems. Her work bridges academic research with practical applications in health policy, organisational management, and public health initiatives.
Russo has supervised multiple doctoral and master’s projects on topics ranging from marketing agility in healthcare to disability advocacy strategies. Her publications reflect interdisciplinary collaboration, addressing themes like organisational sensemaking and ethical business practices through a critical lens. She actively participates in advisory roles, including the Family Centred Care Committee at Children’s Health Queensland and Genomics Australia’s Involve Australia Working Group.
