Fiona Hill is a multi-award-winning composer and academic staff member at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, part of the University of Sydney. Her work spans electroacoustics, orchestral and chamber music, film, dance, theatre, and immersive sound, focusing on the intersection of phenomenology of listening and collaborative art practices. She is renowned for integrating live electronics and new technologies to create emotive, textural soundscapes.
- Notable collaborations include works with the Sydney Dance Company, JACK Quartet, and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
- Her dance-film Circumstance 2020 won the Stelvio Cipriani International Film Scoring Award and Best Music at the Seoul International Short Film Festival (2022).
Research and Creative Practice: Fiona’s research explores corporeal evocations and gestural controllers, as demonstrated in her work with 'blob tracker' technology for real-time electronic manipulation.
