Fiona French

Dr. Fiona French is an Associate Professor in the School of Computing and Digital Media at London Metropolitan University, specializing in Animal-Computer Interaction (ACI). She is the course leader for the BSc Games Programming program and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her research focuses on designing technology-enhanced systems to improve animal welfare, particularly through cognitive and acoustic enrichment for captive species like elephants and nocturnal animals. French collaborates with zoos, conservation organizations, and interdisciplinary teams to create interactive tools that empower animals and promote ethical technology use.

Her work spans projects such as 'Facial Physio,' a VR application for Parkinson's facial rehabilitation, and 'Sensory Jam,' exploring non-human sensory experiences.
