Dr. Fiona Angrisano is a Research Fellow at Imperial College London’s Department of Life Sciences. She has been at Imperial for over three years, following her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at La Trobe University and the University of Melbourne in Australia. Her research focuses on identifying and characterizing anti-malarial transmission blocking vaccine targets, funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC). This work aims to develop novel interventions to advance molecular parasitology and disease control.
Collaborating with non-profit organizations, vaccinology groups, and field-based laboratories, she integrates interdisciplinary approaches to address global health challenges. Beyond research, she serves on the Postdoctoral Committee, organizing social events like monthly beer and pizza gatherings and representing the committee at the PFDC Reps Network.
Her educational background includes degrees in Australia, with a focus on life sciences, and her current work emphasizes translational research with direct public health applications.
