Finn Dammann

Finn Dammann serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Geography and Geosciences at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg, teaching courses across cultural geography, human geography, and geospatial technologies.

His research centers on political geography and digital geographies, investigating sociotechnical assemblages of data circulation through field-based studies in metropolitan regions like Nuremberg and Frankfurt. He integrates GIS methodologies and discourse analysis to examine how digital infrastructures shape social-spatial relations, with emphasis on material dimensions of data flows and urban digital landscapes.

Dr. Dammann supervises student research via advanced seminars including ‘Teaching Research: Political Geographies of Digital Infrastructures’ and multi-day field excursions to Frankfurt, while teaching core courses such as ‘GIS in Human/Cultural Geography’ and ‘Advanced Seminar in Cultural Geography: Political Geography’ for both undergraduate and graduate students.
