Filipe Santos

Filipe Santos is a Full Professor and the Alfredo da Silva Professor of Social Innovation at CATÓLICA-LISBON School of Business & Economics, serving as its Dean since 2019. He holds the Chair of Girl Move Academy and is a Visiting Professor of Social Entrepreneurship at INSEAD. His academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University, alongside roles such as founder of the INSEAD Social Entrepreneurship Initiative and Chair of the Graduate Student Council at Stanford.

His research focuses on strategy, organizations, social entrepreneurship, and impact investing, addressing hybrid organizational practices and scaling social innovation. Key publications include works on institutional logics, hybrid organizations, and the theoretical foundations of social entrepreneurship. His work has been cited over 15,000 times and recognized with awards like the 2019 Schwab Foundation Social Innovation Thought Leader Award.
