Dr. Filipa Sá is a Professor (Reader) in Applied Economics at King’s Business School, King’s College London. She holds affiliations with the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), the Centre for Macroeconomics, IZA – Institute of Labor Economics, CUREM (University of Zurich), and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. Prior to joining King’s in 2013, she was a Teaching Fellow at Trinity College Cambridge and worked at the Bank of England during the global financial crisis. She earned an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics (2002) and a PhD in Economics from MIT (2008).
Her research focuses on capital flows and housing markets, immigration economics, the socio-economic impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic, and treatment delays. Notable contributions include policy-informing work on UK stamp duty surcharges for foreign property buyers and analyses of vaccination equity. Key research areas include:

- Covid-19’s heterogeneous effects on socio-economic groups
