Field Rickards has served as Dean of the Melbourne Graduate School of Education at the University of Melbourne since August 2004. Prior to his deanship, he held significant leadership positions including President of the Academic Board and Pro Vice-Chancellor (2000-2004). His academic career at the University of Melbourne spans over four decades, beginning in 1973 when he was appointed as a lecturer to establish Australia's first post-graduate training in audiology.
