Feyisetan Adunbi serves as a Clinical Social Worker and Lecturer at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, joining the Office of Field Education in July 2024. She teaches Foundation Field Education, Advanced Field Education, and Critical Reflexive Global Practices across multiple terms through Fall 2025.
Her educational credentials include:
- MSW in Interpersonal Practice/Children & Youth from University of Michigan (2013)
- MA in African Studies from Yale University (2006)
- MPA in Public Administration from University of Lagos (1996)
- BA in English & Education from Lagos State University (1990)
Adunbi's expertise centers on gender-based violence across contexts including armed conflict, refugee populations, and Nigerian grassroots politics. Her clinical work addresses health inequities and complementary medicine, notably leading an IRB-approved research project on cannabis use among head and neck cancer patients at Michigan Medicine.
As Field Faculty, she oversees graduate social work students' field placements leveraging her eleven years of healthcare experience, including program directorship of Michigan Medicine's Graduate Social Work Education Program (2023-2024).
She actively volunteers with the American Red Cross on the Disaster Mental Health Team, Integrated Care Condolence Team, and Service to the Armed Forces Program.
