Fethi ŞERMET

Asst. Prof. Dr. Fethi ŞERMET is a faculty member at the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Igdir University. His research focuses on structural behavior of composite materials under cyclic loads, seismic performance of civil infrastructure, offshore wind turbine dynamics, and fire resistance of reinforced concrete elements. He has conducted experimental and numerical studies on composite column-beam joints, wind turbine tower designs, and fire-affected structural components.

Education: Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Celal Bayar University (2012-2018), M.Sc. in Structural Engineering (2009-2012), B.Sc. in Civil Engineering (2005-2009).

Recent research emphasizes earthquake and wind effects on wind turbine structures, material behavior under extreme conditions, and finite element method applications. He leads projects like experimental investigation of fire-affected concrete elements and has advised 2 master's theses. His work appears in journals like Structural Design of Tall and Special Buildings and Sigma Journal of Engineering.
