Feruza Aripova is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. She is also a Center Associate at Harvard University's Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies. With a Ph.D. in World History from Northeastern University, her work focuses on Russian/Soviet history, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, and queer studies. She has designed courses on U.S. foreign policy, Soviet history, and global political developments, and led study abroad programs to the Baltic states and Russia.

Her research explores the intersection of colonial legacies, sexual politics, and homophobia in post-Soviet spaces. Current projects include analyzing Bolshevik-era sexual politics in Uzbek SSR and Baltic republics, and their impact on modern homophobia.
Publications span topics like Soviet gender policies in Central Asia and queer narratives in Eastern Europe. She has co-authored works on digital activism against sexual assault in Ukraine/Russia.
Teaching & Outreach: Taught at Lehman College (CUNY), MIT, and Northeastern. Designed study abroad programs focusing on Baltic/Russian regions. Engages in cross-disciplinary projects like the AACE Lab and Vertically Integrated Projects at Cooper Union.
