Fernando Shintate Galindo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Production at São Paulo State University's Faculty of Agricultural and Technological Sciences. He concurrently holds leadership of the CNPq Research Group in Sustainable Agricultural Systems (GEPESAS) and contributes to the National Institute of Science and Technology in Plant Growth-Promoting Microorganisms. As a faculty member in UNESP's Graduate Program in Agronomy—Production Systems and postdoctoral researcher at the University of São Paulo's Nuclear Energy Center for Agriculture, he maintains an active cross-institutional research profile.
His research focuses on developing sustainable agricultural practices through:
- Optimization of fertilization techniques
- Microbial enhancement of nutrient cycling
- Nitrogen management efficiency
- Integration of plant-growth-promoting bacteria
- Climate-resilient farming systems
Recent publications (2025) demonstrate consistent focus on microbial biofertilizers, nutrient efficiency in major crops (soybean, maize, sugarcane), and soil amendment strategies for tropical regions. Articles utilize advanced methodologies including isotopic tracing and multi-bacterial inoculation to reduce synthetic fertilizer dependency.
He currently coordinates international research through the CYTED network project ESTRATEGIAS DE IBEROAMÉRICA PARA LA CONSERVACIÓN DE LOS RECURSOS NATURALES EN EL CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO, focusing on climate adaptation strategies. His laboratory work at the Stable Isotopes Laboratory (CENA/USP) supports field-based soil fertility research.
