Fernando Romero

Fernando Romero is a Lecturer at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, affiliated with the School of Earth and Sustainability and the Department of Environmental Conservation. His research focuses on developing artificial intelligence-based models to predict, monitor, and measure project status across the lifecycle, including Engineering, Procurement/Fabrication, Construction, and Management.

Romero's work integrates synergies between Front End Loading (FEL) and the Lean Project Delivery System (LPDS), leveraging tools such as Concurrent Engineering, Value Improving Practices, Set-Based Design, Target Costing, and PMI best practices. These models aim to optimize decision-making during the preplanning phase of capital projects, including Small Projects (< $10 million), Industrial, Healthcare, Residential, Public Infrastructure, and Commercial Buildings.
