Fernando Gil González is a Visiting Professor at King's College London's Faculty of Arts & Humanities, with affiliations to senior research groups in Argentina, France, Italy, Spain, and the UK. He holds a PhD in History of Law (cum laude, National Distance Education University) and has taught at Complutense University of Madrid and National Distance Education University. His research focuses on repression of sociability in early modern Europe, legal institutions, Freemasonry history, and Inquisition studies. He has published extensively in journals like RDUNED and Aequitas Journal, with over 30 peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters. Awards include the Royal Historical Society membership and Spanish Society of the Eighteenth Century recognition.
Education: BA/MA History (Complutense University), Law Studies (Complutense University), PhD in History of Law (UNED). Teaching innovations include integrating digital tools for legal history education and role-playing methods in university settings. His work bridges legal history, social movements, and historiography, with a focus on clandestine societies and state repression mechanisms. Current projects include studies on Freemasonry's global networks and Inquisition archives.
Grants and collaborations include research on Francoist pedagogy and European sociability. He has given over 50 lectures internationally and serves as a reviewer for Estudios de Historia de España and Cultura de los Cuidados.
