Fernando Cepero Mejias is an Assistant Professor (Research) at Coventry University's Centre for Future Transport and Cities. He holds a BEng+MEng (2014) and PhD (2021) in mechanical engineering from the University of Seville and the University of Sheffield, respectively. His research focuses on composite materials, finite element modelling, and sustainable manufacturing processes. Fernando leads a European project (r-LightBioCom) developing optimization frameworks for eco-efficient composite structures.
Education: BEng+MEng (University of Seville, 2014), PhD (University of Sheffield, 2021).

- Composite material characterization and machining
- Multiphysics simulations for industrial applications
- Optimization of material recycling and manufacturing costs
- Sustainable design of fiber-reinforced polymers
- Perovskite photovoltaic integration into composites
Collaborations: Active in international projects involving 15 institutions across 5 countries. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable clean energy and responsible consumption.
