Fernando Alvarez Gomez

Fernando Alvarez Gomez serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical, Electronic, Automatic Engineering and Applied Physics at the Technical University of Madrid, holding this position since April 2025 after progressing from Assistant Professor (2016) and Contracted Doctor roles (2019).

His research demonstrates exceptional interdisciplinary breadth spanning electrical engineering instrumentation, analytical chemistry applications, and medical device development. Primary focus areas include low/high-voltage power systems, atomic physics instrumentation, and biochemical sensor technologies, with significant crossover into medical instrumentation and information systems for engineering applications.

He actively contributes to the "Redes e instalaciones de baja y alta tensión" (Low and High Voltage Networks and Installations) research group since December 2016, developing practical solutions for electrical grid instrumentation and measurement systems.
